By October 9, the cumulative oil and gas production at Fuman Oilfield of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company surpassed 10 million tons of oil equivalent, including 8,679,600 tons of crude oil and 1,668 million cubic meters of gas.
Located in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert, Fuman Oilfield is the largest ultra-deep marine fault-controlled fracture-cavity carbonate reservoir in China with more than 1 billion tons of estimated reserves buried at a depth from 7,500 to 10,000 meters.
In recent years, Tarim Oilfield Company has made breakthroughs in drilling and well completion technology by establishing the "geological theory of hydrocarbon accumulation in fault-controlled reservoir in ultra-deep marine carbonate rocks", ensuring high growth of oil and gas production. It is expected to have annual production of 5 million tons of oil equivalent by 2025.
